Superbowl Prediction

Today was an absolutely fantastic day of NFL Football! The day started with the Chicago Bears taking on the New Orleans Saints in Chicago. I honestly hate both those teams and worse, I think that Rex Grossman is probably the worst quarterback in the NFL. To say that I cared about the outcome of this game would be a gross overstatement considering that neither of those two teams have any chance whatsoever of winning the Superbowl.

So, if neither of those two teams can win the big game, that only leaves the winner of the New England Patriots/Indianapolis Colts game. What a freaking game this was! In stark contrast to the previous game, I actually like both of these teams tremendously, as they both have the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Tom Brady's record can't be doubted as he leads his team to AFC Championships consistently, but this year is the year of the Colts. Things looked grim for the Colts, who started the season unstoppable, but blundered at the end of the season losing several games in a row. But once the Colts made it to the playoffs, there was no stopping them. The Colts defense played like that hadn't played all year, dominating every team they faced.

So this clash of quarterbacks was bound to be remarkable. And indeed it was. Tom Brady and the Patriots came out and absolutely kicked butt the first quarter. Actually, until tonight, no team in playoff history had overcome a deficit as large as the one the Colts overcame to win. Peyton Manning came out of the halftime break like a new person and led his team to a remarkable victory over a very formidable opponent.

So the teams have been selected for the Superbowl and it's the Bears vs. the Colts. A rookie quarterback with one of the best defense's in the country verses a Veteran quarterback who topped most all quarterback stats this year with one of the best Defenses in the playoffs. I think undoubtedly, the Colts take it to the Bears in one of the biggest wins in Superbowl history, though Vegas currently has Indianapolis winning by only one touchdown. I think that can be easily expanded to 4+ touchdowns. It's not even going to be close! But I give a big congratulations to Peyton Manning and the Colts as they prepare for their trip to Miami to kick some Bears bootay!
