I know I only have exactly 2.6 readers, but I sincerely apologize to the almost three people for the lack of posting as of late. My life has been nothing less than chaotic and my internet life is as always the first to suffer. Unfortunately, that's not going to get any better for a while.
In less than six hours from this blog posting, I will be boarding a plane to start a three-week work trip that won't even bring me back home on the weekends! The sad part is that I haven't even packed yet. Oops. My first stop though is Columbia, South Carolina, home of the Cocks. The Game Cocks, that is. I haven't been to Columbia before, but I hear its a cool town. We'll see about that.
I don't look forward to it much but I highly anticipate leaving Friday to drive down to Savannah, GA where the second part of my trip is. This weekend, I plan on driving up to Charleston, SC and taking a look around there. I've always wanted to visit Charleston and I really anticipate checking out Fort Sumter where the first shots of the Civil War took place.
I get to travel a lot and go to all of these fantastic places, but I rarely take the time to actually go out and see the places I visit, so I'm going to start doing a better job of that in the future, starting with this trip. Plus, man, you just can't beat Savannah! It's probably the coolest town I get to visit. I actually finally watched Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil the other day and it was cool to see a movie being set in a place I've actually been to. Like, I knew and recognized the streets they were on. It was pretty neat-o!
The final stint of my trip is in Saint Petersburg, Florida. I'm actually staying on Treasure Island in a place named the Tahitian Resort. It's not the nicest place in the world, but I'm on a freaking work trip and I'm staying on the freaking beach, so you can't really beat that, now can you?
After St. Pete, I finally get to fly home. At this point, I don't have any travel scheduled for anything after March, but I'm sure that I'll have more things waiting for me when I get back to Nashville. It's just a crazy time and I'll be glad when it's over.
So, I don't know what the deal is but like, I have the driest skin on the planet right now. I'm virtually bathing in lotion and my hands are still scratchy! Not only that, but my lips are ridiculously chapped and they're hurting. I've been using some crazy french lip balm stuff and it's helping, but it's just so weird. I've been sucking down water all day to try to stave this crap so hopefully it will get better.
I think I'm finally over my month-long cold! Man, I hate being sick. And what's worse is having to travel when you're sick. Ugh, just kill me now! I don't know what I need to do to help boost my immune system, but I need to start doing something. Maybe take multi-vitamins and stuff like that. Who knows. I don't see what any good that stuff does you if you're subjected to eating fast food every day. You can only be so healthy when you're eating out of a grease vat every meal. Know what I'm sayin', yo?
So my friend Charlie came up to Nashville this weekend and we decided to go downtown to check things out and then we went to a strip club on 8th Ave. called Christie's Cabaret. Uh, this was one hell of a strip club people. I really can't be held as a reasonable and objective critic on strip clubs because the only thing I can compare it to is Diamond's & Lace in Chattanooga, and we all know what a joke that place is. But I can honestly say that all the girls at Christie's were incredibly attractive, sans the one old stripper who's holding on for dear life to be a hot young whore. Seriously, she kept asking me if I wanted a lap dance and the only thing I could think of is how much this woman reminds me of my mom! GROSS! After repeated declinations, she finally left me alone, but she just couldn't understand why I didn't want to pay her money to give me a lap dance. Other than the one girl, the place was fantastic and it was cheap! I never would have thought I would have gotten out of a strip club that cheap. Ah, good times.
Well, should be about time for me to start packing. I'll try to throw some updates in here and there, hopefully with pictures of some cool places I will be traveling, but if I don't, don't kill me. It juts means that there are more important things in the world than you. Peace!
